Although Hans Christian Andersen was a Dane, Prague Czech Beer Restaurant would fit right into one of his fairytales. The restaurant would be reached after the protagonist had spent a period of time in the cold outdoors among goblins and other suitably dark characters. In the story, much as in life, the protagonist would be beckoned by the warm lights which make the building seem a haven from the encroaching darkness. The sound of laughter and clinking glasses carrying across the night air would draw him in with the promise of merriment and indulgence.

Sit inside among barrels of beer or on the charming outdoor balcony. Order a larger Czech beer to guzzle down with a serve of crunchy fried mushrooms stuffed with blue cheese. If you want to try a bit of everything, follow it up with the most indulgent dish on the menu, the Bohemian Party Dish (smoked pork, roast pork, golden-brown duck, sausage, red cabbage, sauerkraut, potato pancakes, bread and potato dumplings). Finish with apple strudel with walnuts and whipped cream and perhaps a nip of slivovice (plum brandy). A fairytale indeed.
